Smash bros doesn't count as a fighting game

Do you think Smash isn't a fighting game? Sakurai said it was a PARTY game. It's not meant to be competitive. A real fighting game is a 1v1 2 out of 3 match with life bars.

    Smash is a fighting game because it's a game with mechanics based around fighting. It's unique in its genre but its still a genre

    I'll stop arguing. I am more of a Brawl person and people hate it because"it's too slow, no wavedashing/L-cancelling, and Meta Knight broken". I don't care. Melee is the only one I never played. If I try to find it, It will either be expensive or unreadable.

    Ok you win Smash is a fighting game. I don't play competitively. I am not good at tricks like meteor smashes. Just because it is different than others doesn't mean it doesn't count as one. I'm sorry.
