    No idea. It bothers me every time I fight on that map. lol it appears to serve no purpose whatsoever.

    It gets used 1 time on the Termina Map. Some Wandering Spirit Icy Big Poes spawn there. That's it.

    i threw bombs in the lava and enemys spawned there or fell from the roof or maybe it was lucky timing and that had nothing to do with it

    I'm thinking that it might have been a possible location to reveal Volga. You'd think it'd be the perfect place, with the dragon-shaped lava plumes and with Volga living in Eldin Caves. But in the final story, Volga marched into Hyrule Field with Wizzro, so they may have decided against making him re-appear in Eldin Caves. It is pretty strange.
