    Or maybe that just don't want to favor a specific religion in their games, as shown by their constant erasure of all religious references.

    Well, actually, it's that NOA has a policy that they will always edit out religious symbols in games. The gods and goddesses characters in their games technically aren't religious since they're just characters and they're not a part of any religion so to speak. Family Friendly Gaming doesn't seem to understand this.
