    @Masked Man *their. You're clearly blinded by that mask, because Nintendo has been making mountains of cash with the amiibo. Even if you need figures to play the game, they actually do something worth buying them for. @OmegaStar they've been out for 6 months and we've seen no sign of that sort of thing coming up.

    Wow kids these days... I remember where you bought the game and you could just play it with all characters without buying the dumb toys and on disk dlc. Amiibo is good because it adds to the game not takes away.

    But we've seen literally no sign of any more interesting amiibo functionality in half a year. That's too much time. If it's coming later, I'd question why we have to wait.

    I just buy the amiibo of characters I like because I like having it on display in my room, and I enjoy training them in Smash.

    That seems to be the main appeal of the amiibo: as figures. But even then, the cost of that is too high for the quality anyway. I mean, I'll admit that I freaked out over my Mega Man amiibo, but I wouldn't say that it would be worth it to get a large amount of them. Maybe one or two every month or two.

    @Masked Man I kinda like the amiibos in Smash, but A. it's really not that great when it takes so long to train one and you can fight real people online anyway, and B. that's the ONLY game that gives them a significant gameplay-altering functionality.
