Mario and other Mario characters aren't supposed to be fully developed characters. Super Mario has always been a simple series. It's supposed to be about the gameplay. Mario doesn't need to have a story and character development. That would take away what makes the series special.

    Those are RPGs. Those are supposed to be story-driven. Platformers are not.

    But having a story like they had in Mario galaxy its nice, because you don't really need to know it, but its still pretty cool, and still simple but very emotional...

    Rosalina has more backstory with a single game without even being a main protagonist, then Mario the main protagonist in A LOT of games... :T Yeah...
