A couple things to note about K.Rool this time, even though his sprite is smaller, unlike DKL 1 he still looks natural rather than it just seeming bizarre like DKL 1, also I do note that this boss battle takes place in a pipeline-like area, interesting it does as in DKC 3, which this game is the handheld counterpart to, had a pipeline level as the second to last normal level before your first

boss fight with K.Rool (the normal final boss as the true final boss is the one in the Lost World), a few more things I feel like are worth mentioning, is that even though I know they removed most objects, like the lever to make barrels fall into the battlefield, the two things that caused electrical currents, and the moving platforms, I know they just removed them because the Game Boy probably

couldn't handle all that much stuff considering that's a lot to go on during a boss fight for an 8-bit handheld like the Game Boy, I will also note the boss fight does still does feel kind of fresh, I mean at least compared to the boss with KAOS I don't feel that they just removed certain attacks but still made it the same with a slightly different pattern, and if they did it's much less

noticeable, as even though you still throw barrels at him (which appear out of nowhere this time), you don't have to hit K.Rool when he's facing away from you, also he shoots electricity at you directly this time, while it being shot at you from different heights throughout the boss area doesn't sound too bad or exciting it surprisingly keeps you on your toes, about the only thing I find

rehashed from DKC 3 is K.Rool hovering up and down doing that bouncing thing he'd do after you hit him in DKC 3, it's still hard to avoid but basically still only as tough as it used to be as it's still basically the same attack you faced in DKC 3 just with the sprites on the screen with a smaller size, anyway out of all the K.Rool fights in the DKL series of games for the Game Boy this one feels

the least like a rehash of it's DKC console counterpart, I mean at least in comparison to how the K.Rool fights were in DKL 1 compared to DKC 1 and DKL 2 compared to DKC 2, DKL III's K.Rool fight feels the least like a rehashed downgraded K.Rool fight from the Country games on the SNES.
