I don't mean to brag but I'm pretty much a beast with the roller.

  • I don't mean to burst your bubble, but the roller is pretty straightforward. You have a pretty neutral role in the match with it. Where people have reason to brag: being good with sniper or charger weapons. I fail miserably with them...

  • Relax buddy, it's all jokes. That said I love the sniper too but can't seem to make it work in Turf Wars :/

  • Yeah. I'm pretty sure Nintendo will tweak a lot of things in the next weeks and months, so I'm not too worried.

  • Do you find the game balanced? Every time I see a team with 3 or 4 rollers I find they generally dominate. Of course that could just be because the game is still so new and people are still figuring out the most specialised weapons.

  • The roller is definitely the most easy to get into and rewards new players very early and they have a powerful special weapon, too. The other weapons, especially the chargers and the not-so-fast-firing ones require a bit more practice, but with a gun you definitely have an edge over a roller player because of the distance.

  • I find that playing against a roller-dominated team, it's better to not only focus on covering turf, but even more on killing the roller players. Someone who's mastered a charger weapon can really decimate them if they don't hide and just roll across the map the whole time.

  • I've found being a roller is pretty powerful if you don't just run around the map blindly. I've had a lot of success hiding and planting Squid Beacon in corners close to the enemies spawn point. Really works well on the skate park level.

  • Yeah, that's how I think the roller should be used. A lot of people who say the roller is overpowered think so because they're just overwhelmed by players who simply roll across the map.

  • Late answer. No, I don't really find the game balanced. I think all the rapid-fire guns and rollers have a big advantage to all the other ones. When I see a team with two snipers, it almost always loses. And a team with four rollers is actually pretty weak. The can't really use higher ground to their advantage. Also, the game got a patch today, but no changelog. :-/
