    Splatoon is all about the ink. Keep in mind that the objective is to ink the ground as much as possible. Look at the map from time to time.

    At the beginning of the match you have to split up. Every Inkling should take one path. Don’t ink over the other’s ink. Try to get to the middle as fast as possible.

    Rushing in to the enemy base is useless. Once you die the enemy will instantly cover your ink. Meanwhile you loose time until you spawn and they have the chance to attack.

    For beginners fast shooting weapons are the best. I still use it and think it’s the best for making a lot of points in Turf War.

    If you want to use a roller, please don’t cover the ink of your teammate. You waste your own ink. Also learn the weapon, it can spray ink. Don’t only run around with the roller. Try to use the squid form when neccessary.

    Do not underestimate the last seconds in the match. If you die, the team can turn the whole game around. Better be defensive than die.

    Speaking of dying. Try not to die in this game - at all. The less you die, the more time you have to ink the ground.

    Only engage in enemy fights when you are sure you can win. Try ambush or surprise attacks. Don’t be emberassed if you hide in your own ink.

    Look at the Gamepad and learn each map. Take a look which sections are the biggest and try to control them. Narrow paths are much less important than big open spaces.

    Hold your ground in the middle and make sure to not let the enemy get through to your base. Use Sprinklers, Inkstrikes and other subweapons to help you out.
