Go to the shop owner who looks like he just came from Alaska and free his buddy from jail, if I remember correctly after you tell him that you've freed his buddy he will give you the sail. Later in the game go to the auction house and there might be a faster sail to buy. there is a guy dancing in front of a stone, there is a door on the building, enter and free the guy. Hope this helps.

You are on the correct island. Now look for a shop that is out in the open air where a short man is standing behind a booth. Talk to him and he'll tell you a sad story about how he needs money and all his troubles would be fixed if only he could sell you this "thing". The thing is a sail and it costs 80. If you need money you can break jars around town hiding in bushes. Have fun!
