it's fine, people ask me all the time. when she was born, her lungs weren't fully developed or she had a disease while in my mom's stomach. she lived for 12 hours. born September 29, 2008, died September 30, 2008, in my father's arms. her name was going to be Emily. Emily Claire Karafin. (yes, Karafin is my last name. it's bizarre, i know.)

i was 6 years old when she died. i wasn't at the hospital because i was with my godparents, but on the way home i asked Dad, "where's Emily?" he shook his head and said not a word.
