  • Marth may have taken a lot of nerfs from melee to smash 4, and sure, Marth is no where near as good as he was before. But these nerfs doesn't make him bad. He's just different. That's all. Different.

  • Marth is moderately tall, and he is decently fast. Not as fast as before, but fast. He has the fastest walk in the game. His walk is good if your patient.

  • He is weight is average and his and he isn't a fast faller, which is a plus. I'm just starting slow, just getting some stuff out of the way.

  • He has a poor dash attack unfortunately (pretty sure he ways had a pretty poor dash attack), but that isn't his main way of approach to begin with. His grab is decent, again, not as good as before, but decent.

  • His specials. His n-special is one of his tools for shield pressure, due to the fact that it breaks shields. When broken, he can use a tipper f-smash, which kills super early. Around 30%. Side b isn't that useful, it's just there if you want to get an automatic combo. His neutral side b is usually the best way to go, since it hits most of the time and does decent damage. Side b up is good when-

  • You can't hit with the neutral side b. And his downward side b is usually useful when your opponent is on shield, since it really pressures the opponents shield. Dolphin slash, while not as strong as before, is still super quick. It's Marths best way to get out of combos. Counter is still a really good move, and probably Marths most memorable move. Use it if you think your opponent is going-

  • His smash attacks are pretty decent His side smash has decent range, but it's still good for those reverse side smashes. Best way to space for a tipper side smash, one of his strongest moves in the game Tipper up smash might be the strongest up smash in the game, due to the fact that it kills so early. It kills around 30% to 40%. Down smash is unfortunately poor. I highly recommend not using-

  • His tilts are decent as well Up tilt is no where near as good, it only creates potiental for up air juggles. Side tilt is a really good spacing tool, and a move that you would usually use instead of side smash to make sure your safe. Well, it's a safer move then side smash Down tilt is his best tilt. It's quick, and it has potiental to combo into foward air. Plus it's good for ledge pressure-

  • And maybe you can use it to pressure shields due to how fast it is.

  • His aerials are extremely memorable, since every melee Marth player used them Foward air is easily his most memorable, and maybe his best aerial. It's good for spacing, and his neutral air is also good for spacing. I highly recommend using foward air since it had more range and you can short hop it. I usually use nair when full hopping Dair is kind of useless, only good for spiking.

  • Back air is his back air. It's nothing special. It's just a pretty good back air, and it does change your position, so you can back air into down tilt. His up air is his main way for juggling, you just need to read the air dodges or what they'll do. He can also do some serious aerial chains off stage. When offstage, you can triple fairs or more. Or you can back air into fair.

  • His throws are ok. Foward throw can combo into fair depending on the character His down throw is good for down throw up air or back air. Only works at low percents. Up throw is a bad kill throw. I reccomend not using it that much. Most of the time try to use throws to get your opponent off stage, where Marth shines the most.

  • His best stage is easily battlefield, but some other stages aren't bad, like FD, or smashville.

  • Marth isn't bad. He is just a very average character. You just need to be patient, and be cautious with your decisions. I secondary Marth. I know. His best moves are easily his down tilt, fair, side tilt/smash, and shield breaker. His up smash is probably a better option to kill with rather then his up throw. He also has the real world advantage, he has a sword. Therefore, he has priority.

  • It's important to use Marths sword advantage. You can really get some free hits since his sword can challenge some moves. Like possibly peaches dair.

  • So that's about it! I'm going to do either meta knight or Falco next, gonna probably ask people who they perfer on a different post, and that's who I'll do next! Comment if I forgot anything

  • Falco. Meta Knight is actually OVERRATED.
