Why are people upset about Federation Force because it doesn't have Samus? That's like getting upset about Luigi's Mansion because it doesn't have Mario or Majora's mask because it doesn't have Zelda.

  • Plus, Samus was confirmed to still appear in the game.

    Yeahs1
  • Mario and Zelda play seconday roles in both of those games you mentioned.

    Yeahs1
  • I agree with you Brandan. The art direction ruined the spinoff I've been wanting for years. @Ripjaw, Mario, Kirby, Pokémon and recently Zelda have been doing that for a long time, this is the first time it's incorporated into the lore as a side story about different protagonists.

    Yeahs2
  • It's not the game we been anticipating. Even if the gameplay was like a 2d or third person exploration action adventure it would of please the fans of the series. We didn't want a party like game with cheesy graphics and that's just upsetting to the true fan base.

    Yeahs1
  • @TheFunkLab, they both cameoed in those games like Samus will in this, I haven't played Luigi's Mansion but Zelda was only in Majora's Mask briefly and was completely unrelated to the plot. Personally I've been wanting this for a long time but it's ruined by the graphics.

    Yeahs0
  • And the vs mode is disappointing

    Yeahs0
  • I wouldn't care if they substituted Samus or she made a slight cameo in the game. It's just a bummer the way federation looks and the brief gameplay so far.

    Yeahs0
  • Game looks fun, but yeah, the art style is a bit childish compared to most Metroid games. I seen an image of s new Samus, but I don't know how well this new style will go with the fanbase.

    Yeahs1
  • Aren't you going to miss one of the mist beloved female protagonitst in video game history? Surely Samus has more charactor and iconic status than a generic warrior mech?

    Yeahs0
  • (rabid metroid fan rant alert) so the reason most metroid fans don't like federation force is not one reason but many 1.the hype did not deliver ever since PAX nintndo has been teasing a metroid title and pretty much everyone expected to see an unveiling of metroid prime 4 (seeing as retro was fully capable of doing it and had not announced the title they were working on).-

    Yeahs1
  • Generic metroid lol.

    Yeahs0
  • As a true nintendo fan boy i was watching nintendos digital event live and when i saw planet norion i was stoked, then the title federation force. i was thinking hmmm is this one going to focus on samus's time in the federation. then complete and total let down on realizing that this is not a mainstay metroid game.

    Yeahs3
  • @Brian, I've been wanting a prequel like that on Wii U too, but I've also been wanting a SW Republic Commando-esque spinoff since before Prime 3 came out and I've been wanting a good first person game to make use of the 3DS's stereo 3D, this looks like it's slightly on the mark but that graphical style is just wrong. I won't be getting it.

    Yeahs1
  • 2. the game style so anyone who plays games can tell you this is an fps. (just saying that makes me shudder) the closest metroid has come to an fps is metroid prime hunters (whichI have no opinion on since i can't seem to find a copy of the game to save my life) which was a failure, and not only is it an fps but it's an fps with even LESS exploration and puzzle solving than hunters-

    Yeahs1
  • You know what i am not going to go on.... @ snuggle fox it brightens my day to see another nintendo fan who likes SW RC and even though i hate the premise and art style of the game i am still going to buy it because in the end.... it's still a metroid game also i was already typing so i didnt see your comment sorry for posting that other long message

    Yeahs0
  • @Brian Metroid Prime 1 2 and 3 are fps. Hunters was one of the best DS games IMO. It also had better graphics than this.

    Yeahs1
  • @Brian, yea, I might've considered getting it too if it didn't let down the spinoff idea I've had for years. If they had released it as a new IP it would've been less disappointing.

    Yeahs0
  • Hunters was the best Prime game I played...wish I didn't sell it to get the 3DS XL...

    Yeahs1
  • @snuggle fox i will buy anything (even if it's something i don't want) if it means not letting the metroid franchise die off. I am way too big of a fan to let it just die off quietly.... I think maybe i need to become a little less metroid obssesed :3. also prime 1, 2, and 3 were classified as first person Adventure not first person shooter

    Yeahs1
  • People wanted a new Samus adventure. The last Prime game was 8 years ago, so the announcement of a spin off seemed out of the blue. Frankly, Nintendo misread their audience similar to how the Wii U Animal Crossing ends up as an Amiibo board game.

    Yeahs1
