Homing attack was actually a powerup in Sonic 3D Blast first.

Its really fun once u get the controls. The music is amazing on the genesis port. look up green grove zone and diamond dust zone.

Espio99, the homine attack is actually in an older game called Sonic 3d Blast(not actually 3d). The homing attack in that game however, was referred to as the Sonic blast attack, and could only be used if you had a golden shield. The range of the golden shield was limited though and didn't have a ton of range.

Well on the bright side, you would have a shield, and if you got hit, it wouldn't hurt. On the bad side, once it's gone, it's gone.

The cool thing about the golden shield was that when you homed in on something, it would leave afterimages. But the sonic blast attack wasn't nearly as cool as the homing attack.

Yes but in Sonic 3 and knuckles, you could become hyper Sonic, which is my favorite Sonic transformation ever. Faster than Super Sonic and able to pull off some nifty tricks, Hyper sonic is way cooler than any Sonic transformation that I've ever seen.

My favorite shield is probably the fire shield considering the fact, that it has more uses than any other elemental shield what with all the rockets spewing fire out of a lot of the bosses in that game.

By the way Espio, did you know that Hyper Sonic can breath underwater and Super Sonic can't? Also, Tail's doesn't have a super form but with the Super Emeralds, he becomes Turbo Tails, who has a small group of flickies that attack enemies on the screen.
