The final boss, Giegue (Giygas in EarthBound). He's an uncaring and heartless entity with no emotions whatsoever. Right? Giegue can only beaten with the 8 melodies. Together, the 8 melodies formed a lullaby that was sung to him by his adoptive mother, Maria, when he was a child. Perhaps Giegue is really just tormented by the emotional stress of betraying his only mother.
