Once you dive into the game, it's actually pretty fun. I can't say it's exactly good as Earthbound, but the gameplay has its similarities. While battles tend to look dull and boring, you'll get pretty used to it. I'm still playing through this though, so I can't give you a full rating for this game. But I will soon when I finish playing it. If you're looking for something good, this is ideal.

  • Only real problem i have with it is the grinding. Early in the game it seems like enemies are way too strong. I had to get up to at least level 5 before baddies would stop ripping me to shreds.

  • I actually prefer that than just an easy breeze game. We don't get these kind of games anymore. And to be honest, bypassing the beginning was a bit challenging, but not hard. It requires effort to play.

  • Yeah i totally get that but when you spend over an hour just grinding for levels and not actually getting anywhere in the game it's a bit frustrating. That's one thing about RPG's i don't like. That and constant random battles.

  • Well, there's one superior advantage over Earthbound... NINTEN CAN ACTUALLY RUN!! HE CAN RUN!!!

  • Well, have you tried getting your wooden bat? That should help you get through the game a little faster. You can register massive damage to the opposing enemy.

  • Yeah if only it didn't cost so much! Either way you're going to be spending alot of time grinding or saving up for the wooden bat.

  • I didn't think it was that much. After all, the father spoils the living çrap out of him by transferring $800+ dollars into his account. Back then, my dad would usually give me three bucks just to cut his grass.

  • Yeah your wallet does fill up pretty fast so that helps. Still a wooden bat for 500 dollars!? Get outta here!
