    it's actually the first game in a trilogy known as "Mother" in Japan. it was supposed to get an English release on the NES, but that didnt happen. This is Mother, EarthBound is Mother 2, and hopefully we'll get an English version of the best one, Mother 3

    This is basically Earthbound Zero, or the original Mother in Japan. This is the first time this game has made it outside of Japan without the use of pirated ROMs.

    Earthbound Beginnings (AKA Mother in Japan) was on the NES but never released outside of Japan, while Earthbound(AKA Mother 2 in Japan) was on the SNES.
