The people dislike Metroid Prime: Federation Force. Noobs. They don't know the story. The warriors in Power Suits are galactic federation soldiers in the years without Samus. In fact, Samus is a bounty hunter, in the games she doesn't belong to the federation (except for Other M). Now we have the Galactic Federation. This is an amazing topic for a Metroid Game.

  • I think most people wouldn't be angry if it didn't look so cartoony.

    Yeahs1
  • That game looks awful.

    Yeahs1
  • I don't see anyone complaining about the difference between Wind Waker and Twilight Princess.

    Yeahs1
  • Game looks garbs. Black Brados am dissapoint.

    Yeahs1
  • Well, people doubted Super Mario 3D World at first.

    Yeahs1
  • that's why people are upset, it's a spinoff. it's kinda like if valve teased a new half life announcement and everyone's like "OMG HL3 CONFIRRRRMMMEDD" and then gabe newell shows up and is like "introducing half life: gordon freeman and friends racing." you'd be like "valve? what is this? what's this garbage? this isn't half life! are you kidding me? we want a REAL half life!"

    Yeahs1
  • Excuse me, but how do you know about the chronological placement of this game? Also, many on both sides of the issue are noobs. Man, this is starting to turn into the Metroid Other M debate!

    Yeahs0
  • People hated Wind Waker when it was revealed. Same goes for Mario Sunshine. Now look at 'em. Wind Waker was re-released to much fanfare and people all over the net plea for a Sunshine sequel. If it's a fun game, it will find its audience. The internet hate machine just fears the unknown.

    Yeahs2
  • Also, Metroid games are about exploration. This looks like a cartoon version of COD.

    Yeahs1
  • The thing is that franchises like Mario and Zelda are used to styke changes. But one of the worst things about the Metroid fanbase is their reaction to the slightest change ( See: Other M. It was bad, but definitely not as bad as everyone thought.) Formul-wise, Metroid has changed the least over the years. And remember that Wind Waker was met harsh criticism too.

  • @Liam "Also, Mario games are all about platforming. This looks like a cartoon version of (insert name of sports game)."

    Yeahs0
  • The game looked alright when I saw it at NWC. It looked like a pretty good eshop title, but then they reveal that this was the new Metroid. I'm sure it's a good game, but it doesn't look like a Metroid game. Everyone hates this game because it's not the Metroid game we wanted...

    Yeahs0
  • Sorry but I mean this isn't at all like Metroid in any way gameplay wise besides shooting enemies.

    Yeahs0
  • Neither are any of the Mario spin-offs.

    Yeahs0
  • mario is a bit different considering we get an actual platformer every ~2 years, last metroid was like 5 years ago, and before that 3 years

    Yeahs0
  • The gameplay just isn't at all Metroid-y. There is the title, the Federation, and the Space Pirates. That's it. Also, what if the next Mario Kart didn't have anything Mario? What if the next Super Smash Bros. had only random NPCs as playable characters and was like Street Fighter? Atleast those spin-offs had many references to the main series. R.I.P. Metroid (1986-2007).

    Yeahs0
  • The game is a shooting game, just like Metroid.

    Yeahs0
  • Metroid is more than just a shooting game! You explore spaceships and planets, getting more powerful while the enemies get more powerful as well. Eventually, you are at full power, and you face the final boss, whether it be Mother Brain, Dark Samus, or the Queen Metroid, and defeat it. You narrowly escape a huge explosion and are granted the satisfaction of saving the universe... and bikini Samus

    Yeahs0
  • The gameplay looks the same as MP: Hunters. Yes, this game is about the Federation and not Samus, but so what? It's a spinoff. Accept that the Metroid universe is expanding and move on with your life.

    Yeahs0
  • Atleast Hunters has a single player mode.

    Yeahs0
