So the capture of Sylveon finally marked the completion of every balloon that I own so far. Time to buy more Poké Diamonds.

  • You're... actually going to spend money on it? I'm surprised, but that's probably because I couldn't enjoy the game at all. I played it for a good few hours but found it dull and repetitive - very much so.

  • is it just me or was sylveon an EXCEPTIONALLY HARD boss to fight?

  • @John Yes, I did find Sylveon quite exceptionally hard to capture, but only because of its minions. I have a Mega Gutsy++ Scizor, so causing it to become wobbly was very easy, but as I was committing an all-out attack, the Audino minions would heal Sylveon, therefore delaying its defeat, and helping it to regain balance before I could finish it off. The trick is to clear out the Audino (continued)

  • (continued from previous comment) before attacking Sylveon. @Matt I partly see what you mean, considering there are no updates on a regular basis, as in Pokémon Shuffle. But then again, what could they add? The game already contains all current 719 species of Pokémon.

  • That's not it. It was just the gameplay - buy a balloon, go to a random area, run through mashing A or B, go back to town, repeat. I got annoyed because I couldn't tell what types the symbols meant and it didn't tell me which were SE and NVE against others like Shuffle does, making it hard to pick the right poke. So I lost a couple times and wasted a couple diamonds then deleted it.

  • I decided to give it another chance, this time being more careful with diamonds. Even so, I just found it so unbelievably repetitive that I couldn't enjoy it at all. I gave it a good 8 hours and still didn't like it.

  • As you can see in the top left corner, my most recent attack target, Carvanha, is a Water-Dark-Type. The red border outlining the water symbol means my Steel-Type move is NVE against Water-Types. For SE moves, it's the same except a green border.

  • I see. They don't tell you any of this! Nor what the icons mean, and with 18 types it's easy to get mixed up!

  • That's true. But I find it a lot of fun to figure out these things by myself!
