    Some come thrû SpotPass if they're on your 3DS’ Friends List. Others arrive via StreetPass (which is what I think you're referring to w/ free Poké Diamonds), which arrive if you StreetPass someone (i.e., you pass them with your 3DS while it's in sleep mode while you're out & about). For instance, I think Best Buy is having an event this weekend. Take yours and you'll probably StreetPass people.
