Hey, Gamestop. I checked out your retro page and its...its just terrible. You guys know its proper business practice to inform people whether your game discs come with the complete packaging or not, right? I'm not dropping $60.00 or more for loose discs. This is a collector's nightmare. No wonder you guys aren't selling this junk in stores! Pft, 24.99 for NES Metroid, good luck with your museum.

  • Wow..that's just unacceptable. Things are going to have to change if they want this to have any kind of success.

  • @Phil: I was hoping they'd mass market the used gaming scene and lower prices so that mom and pop stores would have to be more competitive. But apparently they decided to go the opposite route and focus on meeting the demands of inflated internet prices making the retro scene even worse than it already was. Than again, should I expect any less from Gamestop? Lol.

  • I think it's implied that they don't come with original boxes. And that really is a shame. But for those types of games (especially N64 ones) that would reeeeally boost the price. I might buy one game in their line-up just to test it out but, we'll see.

  • @Diane: Meh, I'll just stick with my local game stores. I don't shop Gamestop anyway. I actually like to get my games before street dates, lol.

  • You're so lucky! I've searched high and low for places like that around here!

  • @Trav: That would have been amazing but as you said..pretty much expected from them. Unfortunately the retro game store I visited called Game Swap closed down a while back. They had Nes,Snes,Genesis,Gameboy games and more it was great. Best deal I got was Donkey Konga 2 with the drums for 10 bucks.

  • @Diane: Living in the middle of no where has some perks...it also has its down sides too, but I'm content, lol.

  • @Phill: Dang. That's a good deal.

  • No thanks, Gamestop. I can download Metroid for $20 cheaper than the garbage prices you guys are offering.

  • @Eric: I know right. $5.00 or 25.00 for the physical thing...and you don't know if its even gonna work or not. If its by Gamestop standards the things probably has maggots feasting on the insides, lol.

    Yeahs4
  • I'll just stick to searching for Amiibo there and eyeing up MK9 and MKX (besides, like others are gonna say before and after me, I can get those retro games cheaper on the E-Shop than Gamestop)

  • If I want a newer game, I'll go to GameStop. If I want an older game, I'll go to my local gamexchange (or however it's spelt) from newer games from ps4, xbone, and wii u (tho not that many) to classics like n64, nes, Atari, ect. Heck my bro even bought an n64 there

  • Don't worry Trav, there's always Amazon or Ebay since some of the games had original box art & sometimes the manual. But be warn that some of the games with perfect condition (including the original box art &/or manual) has outrageous prices!
