    not! beat game first then next time you play it you have the picto box and the pictures will be in color. p.s it keeps the pictures you take the first time you played.

    Maybe in the old version. Not sure. BUT I just did the quest the other day, have a color camera, and haven't beaten the game yet on Wii U.
