    simply put, the system that randomly chooses who is on what team and the team color wasnt able to determine who was on what team (team rice and team bread in JP), which slowed down japan's splatfest and didnt let a number of eligable players even play

    Aparently, when splatfest in Japan started there were problems and super long delays with matchmaking. So Nintendo postponed our splatfest till they fix the problem.

    Yeah, in Japan's 1st Splatfest on the 14th(?), there were some matchmaking errors causing it to take forever to find a match. They decided to postpone our Splatfest to fix this problem so that it won't happen again. We don't know the date it's been postponed to though.
