  • Here's the thing with the updates. They're not neccesarily "free"; you've already paid for them. This is content which is already on the disc or in the Splatoon install. They're just casually rolling out the updates when they feel it's time, or when their system can take it. I'm sure they'll still provide free content. But right now, you've already paid for it.
