  • 04 The bottom right corner is the mirror image of this one. I brought the edges further in than I usually do, just to keep the Hotheads from having to travel so far. I still wanted to keep the edges out of sight during a match, or else I would have brought them in even further.

  • Starting with the falls, one large and one small moving platform begin their journey toward the East. The small moves faster than the large but both are in sync, so they will always change direction at the same time. Each trip is identicle. Also, don't hesitate to dodge roll away from your enemy, right into the falls, because there is a spring there to launch you before you take any damage.

  • As you can see, the large travels just above the lava, and the small acts as an extension to the raised, soft platform, as it passes through.

  • This raised platform has a mover inside of it that is purely decorative. It never travels beyond the edges of this platform.

  • Also, the raised right edge of this is solid, and the ledge is grab-able.

  • Alot of characters can run and, or dodge roll right over this small gap. Samus cannot roll, but she can run. Some characters can do neither. Notice how there is a small piece of raised lava? That is to allow this feature. Of course that also means that the large mover doesn't clear it.

  • This area is very special. Do you see that dark area under the purple platform? Well that's a solid piece. You can only fall through from above when you're near the slanted wall. But, the stack of soft platforms under that solid piece allow you to . . .

  • dodge roll right on through! Some of the larger characters cannot do this, but most of the smalls can actually just run right through. Medium sized characters can dodge roll though. Use this to get to the good items before your opponents do!

  • See the purple soft platform cutting into the top right corner of the cannon? That is there to keep you from running into the lava. I think all characters can run right on through once they're on the other side, but some of the smaller characters will fall into the lava if they walk instead of run, thank goodness there's a convenient spring among all the flotsam floating down the lava river!

  • Oh. You're just gunna throw it on the ground above that cannon aye? Well that seems like a waste.

  • Oh no! Here comes the big guy! If only you still had that Pitfall, you could . . .

  • I like that about the pitfalls. You can create a stage with a soft platform for the bottom and have a pitfall send enemies to their doom.

  • Absolutely! I've been doing that little trick since Brawl, but the cannons make it a little more maniacal. With just a pit you can still recover with the right characters and if you're good enough. But with the cannon there's no hope! I did something similar in the SS Mario stage.
