Jessie: It's a myth, really. Besides, I'm really tall... Drowning occurs because you panic. If you don't panic, you probably won't drown.

Jessie: I'm being careful, though. My dad told me it. The only time I almost drowned was when I forgot to take a deep breath when diving in the deep end.

Jessie: Technically you could sit on my back and I can fly you around for a bit. But I won't dive...

Steven: No, I mean actually fly. You know, with wings and stuff!

Jessie: Ah. Well, I can't give you the power to fly, sadly. *stands around in pool*

Steven: Yeah...maybe I'll be able to shapeshift wings one day! Pearl: *stands and dusts herself off, then sees the Octoling before her* What are you?

Jessie: You can try.. don't hurt yourself though. I don't want to get blamed. When I get blamed, occasionally I start setting things on fire. Not all the time, though.

Steven: I should probably wait for Pearl, though...

Jessie: Yeah, maybe...

Octasia: "Me? An Octoling. A humanoid Octopus. An elite trooper too." *Crosses her arms* "Tell me, ancient, where is the exit to this forsakened "Haven"? I really need to return home and continue my duty in the army, not lounging around underwater..."
