Question

If I were to scan a QR code for shinies and stuff, would it corrupt my game file? And if it doesn't, how do I even scan and receive?

    As long as you dont scan in a malfored or garbage file, you are fine. Even if you do, you can get rid of it. On the 3ds homescreen, press L+R to go to the camera. There's a button to open the QR scanner. And if you've updated your 3ds any time since March 2nd, none of this will work anymore.
