@Magic Your example only proves my point on how mixing popularity into a competition unbalances everything. It gives the team with more people an unfair advantage just for being more popular. In fact, out of all Splatfests so far, no one's won without winning in popularity. And please, do tell me in specifics how I am being salty, because at least I'm specific in my arguments.

I'm not bothered by team Dog winning. I'm bothered by the logic they won by. Whether or not it is in a video game (where I normally don't get bothered by losing by 0.1% in turf wars) is irrelevant to my opinion.

I'm pretty sure I chose cats because I basically am one. I'm nocturnal sometimes, love to get some good shut-eye, and my worst trait... easily offended/provoked. That's probably why this got to me, even though i don't know what the insult "salty" means... XD

If cats won by a larger margin than 2%, like by 5% or greater, then yes, they should deserve to win. But it's by a small margin, and dogs were more popular. Now if the dogs won the popularity vote by a margin of 5% or less, cat's could win. But as it stands, Dogs won. Just leave it as it is and focus on the game, and prepare for the next Splatfest, whenever that comes around!

@Proto But WHY should popularity factor in an event focused on winning matches? Is that really an okay rule to put in? What two-team competitions where the main focus is winning the battles do you know of where popularity effects the score? I've not seen any, and I believe for a good reason. Would we have such an outcry if popularity didn't effect the Splatfest scores in the first place?
