    Try to hit it while it's steaming and hopping up and down after it attacks to try and make it wobbly, but you can't hit it if it's flat out jumping. Do not try to do this if it's smoking, (smoking Pokémon move faster and attack more, but it doesn't last,) because you will only get a few hits on it and it will not become wobbly. If you defeat a Pokémon while it's wobbly, it's a certain catch.
