For those of you who have 2 or 3 of the same type on your team don't do it i say that because your opponent will have the advantage and they will out smart you i can understand if you have a competitive mono type team but there's no point to have more than one type lets say if you have two steal types left and the opponent has a fire type and knocks it out then your stuck with that pokemon

  • that could of been used for a water type that's what i'm saying if you want to do it anyways then go ahead you'll just fall into this situation, I had a japanese opponent used 3 dragons, he fell into the same situation i was talking so he forfeited i'm not trying to be mean i'm just trying to help you so that does not happen to you

  • That is where you get smart with the abilities your pokemon have. I had two steel types on my team once: Scizor and Heatran. Scizor was weak to fire, but Heatran is immune to it thanks to its ability.

  • And on another team I had Skarmory and Heatran. Skarmory was physically defensive and was able to fend off Fighting types like Conkeldurr, while Heatran was Specially defensive and covered most of skarmory's weaknesses. So, they support each other. Skarmory is immune to ground (heatran's weakness) and Heatran is immune to fire (skarmory's weakness).

  • also you need to mix attack and special attacking pokemon because some pokemon have high defence or special defence stats.

  • yeah the point i was making is that people have 2 or 3 of the same pokemon on your team which is pointless and your wasting a party slot not you guys just for those who are new to online battles

  • And what you say is true. But it is also worth mentioning that more factors are in play, and it is not necessarily only about type.

  • thanks for agreeing well part of my point is do not waste a spot on a random pokemon lets say if you had 2 fire types left in battle and the opponent only has 1 water types in a double battle one fire type gets knocked out and your stuck that person should have a ground type in one of those spots and having 2 of them is wasting a spot in that person's team and the opponent has the right of way

  • but yeah the whole point was about having too many types in a team but if you have a competitive mono team or a competitive type duo your good i'm talking about people who are new to online battling who actually want to win
