    Sydney meant IVs, not levels. IV's stands for individual values. They're not important unless you frequently battle online a lot but having one star in potential means that pokemon has maximum potential in one of their stats. I can go more in depth if needed

    IV's are basically a pokemon's potential ironically. It's like..pokemon genetics; if you have a bd IV in speed, your pokemon will have lower speed than normal and not gain as much as they would from leveling up. However if say, you had a good IV (31 in a stat is perfect IV) then your pokemon will be naturally better in that stat. In the pokenav's case, the stars each represent a perfect IV.
