    Yes, you will never need the basement key again after getting all the stuff, but you will need to take the diary out after saving the zoo.

    The key can be stored now, but you'll need the diary for your first trip to Magicant after finishing everything in Podunk. If you store it, just remember to go back and grab it before leaving town.

    Also their is one guy in magicant that gives you the big bag DON'T throw that out it has 30 magic herbs in in they heal about 30-40 hp each. So you get about 900-1200 hp's worth.
