Serena started to laugh, “She hasn’t changed one bit!” she said. I started laughing as well, “She never will…” I replied. Soon Zoe started to giggle as well, and Flint, too.

Suddenly our laughter was interrupted by a loud BOOM, and I felt myself being thrown forward. I heard Serena scream my name as I slammed into the ground, then everything went black.

Part Seven: The search Begins Zoe

I awoke with a ringing in my ears. “Guys!?” I yelled out desperately. I looked around me to see the basement still mostly intact. The only area that had fallen was the stairway by the door. I looked for Flint and the others. I found them separated, bruised, and unconscious. I tried waking them up to no avail.

I then looked over at Serena to see her beginning to move.

“Serena?” I said, the ringing noise now gone. I began to run over to her when I tripped over Clemont and cracked his glasses. “Oops…” I said embarrassed out of my mind. “Z-Zoe?” Serena stuttered. I stepped over Clemont and ran to Serena. I helped her up. Serena looked dazed.

“What happened-” I began to say when suddenly Serena yeled, “The explosion!” she turned to face Clemont and ran to his side. She shook him a little, trying to wake him up but it was no use.

I stood awkwardly and knelt next to Flint who’d had no attention yet. I lit a lamp that was laying on floor near me and stayed there brushing his reddish locks out of his face. We sat there for a few hours waiting for them to rouse from their unconsciousness.

First Clemont started to wake up, he noticed Serena next to him and he blushed majorly, Serena did the same as she helped him up he then squinted his eyes, “Not my glasses!” he said sounding annoyed. I smirked a little, I think he knows his glasses are a little cracked...

Flint snickered. I looked down at him and saw a sly smile on his face, not realizing he’d been awake for nearly an hour. I blushed and sat him up. “Um…” I said awkwardly embarrassed.

Once they were fully awoken we tried to escape from the basement. The door was closed in by rubble from the walls and roof.

“Can any of you get us out of here with your abilities or something??,” Clemont asked. “Yeah. I’ll just use my magical abilities to get a wrecking ball to break it down,” I said sarcastically. I heard Flint chuckle and I saw Clemont stare at me with an embarrassed look on his face.

“Wait a minute, Bonnie? Where’s Bonnie!?” Clemont yelled with a hopeless look on his face. Serena gasped as Clemont ran to the door and tried to pull the rubble out but failed horribly. I looked at the pile and saw Bonnie’s hair clip near the mess.

“Uh, Clemont?” I said. I picked up the hair clip. I handed it to him and he froze. He slowly put the clip in his pocket while Flint sat in the corner, still having a smile wide over his face. Then the lamp suddenly extinguished. And we were alone in the dark.

Part Eight: The Search Begins Clemont

I stared at the ground in shock as I tried to process everything that had just happened. I can’t believe my sister could be hurt right now… Or worse… And I can’t do anything to help her… I dismissed those terrible thoughts and looked at Serena. “Can someone please tell me what happened?” I said solemnly. Serena stood up and started to explain:

“After Bonnie left… There was some sort of explosion that came from the doorway. It mostly hit you, since Zoe, Flint and I were in the back of the room.” she coughed a little and continued, “Then another one went off and it hit the rest of us…”

I suddenly noticed the Fletchling she was taking care of wasn’t here. “Where’s the Fletchling?” I asked skeptically, Zoe put up her finger, “It flew off during the first blast. We have no Idea where it went.” I was so confused, “But I thought it hurt it’s wing?” I said. Serena nodded slightly and replied, “So did I…”

Serena sat down and looked at me, “I’m sorry.... This is all my fault… I shouldn’t have taken you guys down here…” she put her head in her hands. I felt bad, “Serena, it’s ok. You didn’t do anything wrong-” She stood up and pointed her finger at me, “You don’t seem to understand, Clemont! You guys could have been hurt, and Bonnie could be dead for all we know!” A tear ran down her cheek, “And it

all my fault…” she muttered.

Knowing Serena, I decided to leave her alone at times like this. Flint was no longer smiling, he had his eyes closed and frowned grimly, and Zoe was just staring at us, looking confused.

What Serena said got me thinking… Bonnie can’t be dead… I thought. She’s smart, strong… (And a little annoying sometimes) I looked up to see Zoe standing next to me, “We’ll find her, Clemont.” she said. “I promise.” I smiled and nodded. “Thanks…”

I took the small clip out of my pocket and stared at it in my hand. Suddenly a loud ringing sound filled my ears, I immediately cupped my hands over them trying to block out the terrible sound, and the others did the same.

“What’s… Going… On?!” I managed to yell. Serena squinted her eyes shut tight. “I don’t know!!!” I barely made out. The ringing went on for what seemed like forever, then it suddenly stopped. I opened my eyes to see Serena looking at me with a dazed look on her face.

“Serena, is something wrong?” I managed say to her. She gave me no response which set off alarms in my head. I walked up to her and grabbed her shoulders, “Serena, what’s wrong?” I asked her urgently. She still didn’t respond.

I turned around and saw Flint and Zoe just staring off into space. I turned back to Serena and looked her in the eye. “Serena, snap out of it!” I yelled. She blinked and looked at me.

“Something’s….” she looked around dizzily, without finishing her sentence. “What? Something’s what?” I asked her urgently. She opened her mouth to respond, but her eyes fluttered shut.

And she went limp. Then fell into my arms.

Part 10: Fiery Encounters Flint

Ash Ketchum is dumb. Why is Zoe so shocked and in awe of that wimp of a league champion?

“Isn’t he the Kalos league champion?” I heard Zoe ask eagerly. “Yeah, he is! He can be pretty oblivious, sometimes though… Don’t ask why.” Clemont explained.

Then Bonnie chimed in, “Ash and Serena, sittin’ in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!” Zoe laughed, and so did Bonnie. “Well, it’s pretty neat that you met him.” Zoe stated.

Ash being oblivious… sounds like a familiar thing. I snickered.

“Somethin’ funny Flint?” Zoe asked. “No, it’s nothing Zoe,” I lied. “Well it sure sounded like something one of us said was really funny. I’d like to know what it was,” Zoe persisted.

“You don’t give up easy, do you?” I asked. “Answer the dang question Flint.” Zoe said sarcastically. “I was thinking about earlier, when I heard something that you guys said that was really funny,” I lied once more. Finally, Zoe gave up and I grinned.

“What’s going to happen now big brother?” I heard Bonnie say. “I don’t know Bonnie, but first things first, we’re getting out of here and taking Serena somewhere safe..” Clemont told Bonnie. “Why don’t we just take her to a hospital?” Bonnie asked.

“We can’t. If we take her there, the doctor will definitely find out she’s a Swellow-Hybrid, and we don’t want that.” he replied.

“Well how are we going to get out brainiac,” I asked him. “I don’t know Flint,” Clemont muttered, “I don’t know.” “Clemont! You can use your Aipom arm to get rid of more rocks so you guys can fit through!” Bonnie suggested. “Aipom arm?” I heard Zoe ask skeptically, “What’s that?”

“Clemont invented a Robotic arm that is based off the tail of an Aipom.” She snickered “It’s one of the very few of his inventions that actually works.”

“Hey!!!” Clemont exclaimed. I believe that. Hah! “You know Bonnie, that just may work.”

I heard something robotic move and something big hit the ground.

“Neat!” Zoe chimed. “Did whatever it was work?” I asked. “Thank Arceus, it did.” Zoe said. I heard a loud noise.

“Team Flare!” I heard Zoe yell, Dang. Spoke too soon. “What do you want!” I heard Bonnie yell, “I already did what you wanted!” I heard a chuckle. “Oh, you’re here. Let us introduce ourselves,” I heard who I can only assume was Team Flare say,

“We devote our lives to the world of fashion Protecting all that's chic, that is our passion We denounce the evil of spots and plaid And socks with sandals--that's just bad.”

“Sassy!” “Classy!”

“Team Flair, we're spunky and pert! Join the fabulous, or prepare to hurt! But seriously girl--those shoes with that shirt?”

“Hey!” I heard Zoe yell. Congrats, Flare, you’ve won the award for the most stupid and un-original motto of 2015! Give yourselves a pat on the back for that monstrosity.

“Look, I don’t know who you are. And I don’t care. But seriously, shut up,” I said. “Thanks Flint,” Zoe thanked. “Listen you big bullies! You need to go away! I did what you wanted! Now go away!” Bonnie yelled. They laughed, and laughed.

I whispered in Zoe’s ear as best as I could, “Tell me where they are, and where I have to move to face them. Get Bonnie, Clemont, and yourself behind me and stay out of my way…” I heard the shuffling of feet. “What are you doing?” I heard a grunt ask.

“We’re behind you, now what?” Zoe whispered. “Face me towards them,” I said. She did so. “I’m giving you one last chance, leave, or else,” I said. They laughed.

“Oh, hello subject 17, how have you been?” a familiar voice chimed. “Has your sight improved at all since we last met? Or has it even returned at all?” the voice snickered.

That did it.

My hands curled into fists and surged forward, causing what I hoped was a surging ocean of flames. The voice was Ivory, she, created me. It’s a long story, that I will not get into right now.

“Dear Arceus!”Clemont gasped.

I heard coughing from in front of me, “Now’s our chance! Lets go!!!” “Wait!!! Serena’s gone!!!” Zoe exclaimed. “Get Bonnie out of here!” I yelled. I heard what I assumed was Clemont and Bonnie running past me to leave the room.

“Let’s get outta here!!!” I heard a grunt yell. “We’ll come back for the other two later!!!” Ivory ordered.

The other two? What does she mean? That’s when I realized, They. Had. Serena

Part Nine: Missing in Action Clemont

I ran upstairs holding my sister’s hand as I went. I had no idea what was going on downstairs, but I just had to remove Bonnie from this situation. When we reached the top I quickly led her outside and we ran home. Luckily, our house was down the street from the Lumiose gym, so we were there in no time.

I opened the door and took Bonnie inside. I saw my dad sitting in the kitchen watching the television. “Clemont, where have you been?” he stood up and pointed to my glasses, “and why are your glasses cracked?” he asked in a concerned tone.

“It’s fine, just make sure Bonnie stays here.” I turned around to leave when he grabbed my shoulder. “What’s wrong, bud?” he asked. “Did something happen?” he asked. “I just have some work to do at the gym- I’ll be fine.” I stated. I left the house before anything else could be said.

Once I was back at the gym, I rushed inside and entered the staircase leading to the basement, and found Flint and Zoe trudging up the stairs, fanning away the excess smoke from the blast. Then I noticed something.

“Where’s Serena?” I asked urgently. Zoe looked at me with a grim look on her face while flint waved his hands in front of him. “Where are they?! Did you see them Leave?!” “No, I was taking Bonnie home. What happened?” I asked.

Flint’s hand curled into a fist. “They took her, Clemont…” he muttered. “She’s gone…” It took a moment for those words to really sink into my mind. They took Serena. My best friend in the entire world is gone. And I may never see her again…

I silently sat in my room, reading a book. It was relatively late at night, I should’ve been asleep.

Suddenly I heard a scream coming from outside. I put my book down and looked out my window to investigate what was going on. It was raining, I saw three men in red suits gathered in the corner of an alleyway. I looked closer to see a young girl backed into the corner, she looked terrified.

I ran outside and crept closer.

“Leave me aone!” The girl cried.

“Look, we have you cornered. You might as well give up now, girlie.” one of the men snickered. I didn’t like the look of this. I ran over and stood in front of he girl, “Leave her alone! Why don’t you go pick on someone your own size!” I yelled.

One of the men snickered, “Look kid, you have no Idea what you’re getting yourself into. Why don’t you just back out now while you have the chance.” he gloated. I pressed a button on one of the straps of my backpack. And a mechanical arm slowly crept out of my pack and grabbed him by the shirt. My new invention worked.

“You have no Idea what I’m capable of.” I muttered. “Now leave.” I stated. The man looked shocked and put his hands up. “Fine, we’ll leave. But you’ve got no Idea what you’ve just started, kid.” The men walked off into the dark rainy streets of Lumiose, and we were alone.

I looked at the girl, “Are you all right?” I asked with conscern. “Why were they messing with you?” She just stared, unknowing of what to say. A tear ran down her cheek and she hugged me tight, “Thank you…” she said. “Thank you so much…”

I looked at her, “Why aren’t you at home? It’s pouring out here.” I said. She released me and looked down. “I, um… I don’t have one….” she replied. I grabbed her hand, “Come with me.” I said. I led her to my front door, “We have to be quiet,my dad and Sister are asleep.” I whispered to her. she nodded and we crept inside.
