    Cellphones, in the Canadian market at least, actually debuted exactly 30 years ago this month, on July 1 1985. But yeah, the first mobile phones were like bricks, came with carrying bags and were really expensive... a kid like Ninten wouldn't have had one anyways. There's no attempt made to explain how he gets that message, unlike Earthbound, so it really surprised me. Maybe he used PSI somehow?
