    Hmm... So will it be guys vs girls? If so, I highly recommend third person pov. This will enable you to see through both the sides view, but it will not show which side is the "evil" side. Maybe their leaders were once lovers, had a fight, so on and so forth. Or maybe the countries order is to separate the genders at birth from a middle country (kinda like the new story in fire emblem fates) and

    Each side fight to see who is more superior. Men are physically stronger, so destruction magic (fire, electric, ice, etc) is more suitable. Women are emotionally stronger, so alteration magic(curses, traps, manipulation, etc) is more suitable. Is this any helpful?
