Do you have any general tips for finding comfort in battling others? Now that I'm starting to battle my friends, I'm becoming a tad unnerved by what is actually occurring. I think I'm starting to go mad from the revelation.

I'm intrigued. What is it that you believe is 'actually happening'? Perhaps I've been battling so long that I don't notice it anymore.

I'll do my best to explain. In the beginning, I battled the game to train my Pokémon, win Gym Badges, save the world, free the slaves, and become a hero to children everywhere. Now that I've accomplished that, however, I'm unsure of how to feel about battling. Recently, one of my friends has been battling me, and win or lose, something feels off. I feel guilty for some reason. (Continued)

It's as if we're knocking our Pokémon out just because we can and have nothing better to do. This doesn't make sense to me. I know battling is supposed to be fun, and I have had fun before. Yet the feeling still lingers. I suppose I'm worried about not giving my friend and Pokémon my best. I don't want to let them down. Naturally, neither of them cares about this, as they know we all... make mistakes, but I still feel terrible for battling. My friend will see this post, and I'm almost certain she'll be able to fill in the gaps of my understanding, but I thought I should organize my thoughts now so I could get right down to the bottom of my problem. And now, I shall see to it that my Gardevoir escorts my best friends to Darkrai.

I recommend ability capsules and S.T. also theres a ribbon shop in mauville city

Ability Capsules and Super Training won't help, since my Pokémon are already trained, but I appreciate your advice. Why do you suggest the ribbon shop though? I know the place, but I didn't think it was too important.

At first I was just a normal trainer, collecting gym badges and beating the Elite Four. But after watching a few online battles on Youtube, I suddenly feel excited and wanted to try it out. So I learned all the basics of EV training and breeding in order to bring out my Pokémons' full potentials (^-^). After that I got the hang of battling and found it very enjoyable (^o^).

But of course, I really do love my Pokémon and I don't want them to faint because of my careless commands XD. So in each battle, I try my hardest to not let one of them faint, but it's kind of hard (^_^;). In the end I decided that their faints are not in vain and that it help support team in whole (^o^). Also, I'm obsess with the ribbons♥ All of my Pokémon have ribbons on them♪

The ribbons are so pretty that it make my Pokémon pretty as well~ I feel happy when I win and I also feel happy when I lose♪ In my opinion, all that matters is to have fun (^-^)/.

I don't know what to say to that. How do you do it, Yawen? How can you possibly have fun EV Training and breeding battle-ready Pokémon, before then sending them out into the field? Why would you do such a thing? Forgive me if I sound inconsiderate, but I just can't understand why you would do such things to your Pokémon. How do you have fun creating Pokémon for battle? It doesn't make much sense.

Again, forgive me if I sound harsh. I really just want to know how you find battling like you do fun. To me, creating the perfect Pokémon for battle sounds immoral.

Predicting your opponents' next move and out smarting your them are what make Pokémon battles fun in my opinion♪ I don't think breeding perfect Pokémon is immoral, unless you, yourself, considered them as tools for winning and nothing else (^_^;).

Certainly not! In fact, that's just what I was getting at. I don't want my Pokemon to be tools for battle. On the contrary, I want to love them and battle with them. I'm just unsure on how to do that. When I went through the game with my team, I didn't care about EVs, IVs, or anything other than simply training them. I see them as people, as my partners and friends. I don't want to... (Cont.)

create/raise a Pokemon just for the sole purpose of battling. That doesn't seem morally right to me, which is one of the reasons why I could never battle competitively. What do you think?

You should try to bring out the best in your pokemon while defending their weak spots.

I think your reason for not battling competitively is good. When I battle, I think of them as friends who want to show off what they can do after all that training (^-^). And after the battle, I feed them Poképuffs for a job well done~ It's all up to you to decide how you battle with your Pokémon (^-^)♪.

I see. Thank you for your advice, GuilmonDƒ and Yawen. Perhaps I too should think that when battling? Hmmmm... I would definitely need to EV train my original team again. Anyhow, I know what I must do. No longer shall I worry about letting my friends and Pokemon down. I'm sure they won't hate me for making mistakes. We're just here to have fun, after all. I will use blankets and Pop-Tarts!
