    No, just no. Iwata deserves a statue or a memorial at Nintendo Headquarters, not a product that will someday become obsolete named after him. Its just disrespectful. It would just look like Nintendo trying to profit off his name, even if thats not their intent.

    I know you want to honor Iwata in some way and we are all saddened by his passing. It would be nice if Nintendo would put a memorial on or near Nintendo headquarters where us nintendo fans could go visit.

    Come to think of it though, Nintendo is getting requests from people like me to make an Iwata amiibo so we can honor him. To me, that would probably count as part of what you said earlier which I agree on though I don't think it's all THAT bad. I mentioned this earlier elsewhere, and people actually liked my idea. Ultimately, Nintendo has to decide on it.

    Iwata amiibo is different though. Because only people that want it will get it, instead of forcing it on everyone. Its like if they made an Iwata Edition Wii U with all the games he worked on were on it, or even a Iwata edition NX. plus, its just too soon though. The man hasnt even been buried/cremated yet.

    His funeral is this Friday. I agree with what you are saying, I really do. Then again, it's up to Nintendo to decide on it.

    I dont think its only up to nintendo. its also up to the family to allow for it to happen. It would be disrespectful for nintendo to do anything without permission from the family.

    They should make an iwata memorial miiverse community though. that way people could put comments and drawings for mr. iwata all in one place. since nintendo doesnt make money off miiverse, i think it should be good and honorable.
