    I'm no pikachu fan either, but he's clearly made to be popular. The design is simple and recognizable with bright colours. He's everywhere in games and merchandise and at the same time the anime very cleverly depicts him as a rarity. Where everyone else has got the same old starters, Ash gets pikachu and it's somehow super powerful and everyone wants it.

    Sorry to say this but i love Pikachu and in my opinion he's cute and rocks sometimes anyway some people like Pikachu because its cute and has been in Pokemon for a long time and the rest maybe because Pikachu has been with Ash for a long time but thats what i think!!!!!!!

    also, they made pikachu overpowerd, in indago leage ash was given all his bagdes, brock left because of his eyes, not his obbsession over girls :/ ( all my anime complaints, have lots more)

    they should ditch ash, pikachu is overrated, ash sees every pokemon, but only cachtes like 5 or 6 in each region (so much for gotta catch them all), ash never evolves his pokemon, ash is a fraud, he is always so gosh dang happy, even when he looses, like "its ok we lost the unova leauge, at least we tried". ash gives pikachu special attention.

    It's because Pikachu is Ash's main Pokemon. I find Pikachu adorable, and own one, but I make sure to battle with and care for my other Pokemon.
