    Get the Mega as fast as possible. Always aim for moves that will eliminate 6+ icons at a time. If you're new to the game you should spend at least 30 seconds examining the board before each move. Look at the pokemon's ability and make sure you move the icon of the ability you want to activate. Pigeot's ability is useless here, try somebody else. If all else fails, you'll have to use coins.

    To clarify my earlier statement, if you make multiple matches in one move, only the first match will activate its ability with the exception of the mega abilities. So if you make two matches with one swap, only the pokemon you held with the stylus will possibly have its ability activate.
