I've been alright. ^^ Just got back from a week holiday and got to meet the cast of some pretty awesome shows(like gravity falls).

I really haven't done anything besides prepare though...now I get to find(and do) my hw.

Well...I haven't done that much else really... I mean,we planned..and I went to Universal studios,which was pretty cool. And uh,I watched a ton of the earlier simpsons episodes. The old ones were really good...especially seasons 5-8.

I don't want to be mean,but the animation is kinda bad in anime. They just move the mouths and rely on robotic movements to convey emotions.

Oh,Miyazaki movies are great..that's a whole other story! Sprited away,Howl's moving castle,totoro...they're all wonderful.So much work goes into them.

I like Hetalia,Sailor moon,and a few others are alright,but as a whole,I'm not really into anime anymore. There was a phase when I was a preteen/young teen that I liked that kinda stuff,but then I realized how poor the actual animation was and that many are the same.

Maybe it's just that I've gotten too old for the show,but Ash has really gotten stale as a character. I don't have anything against the new actors,but they don't sound very good. May sounded like she was 40.. >.<

I'm not trying to insult anyone. It's not their fault they were on a budget and their contract with 4kids expired. Unfortunately, it seems fairly common for American voice actors to come and go for shows.

How so?

Anime dubs tend to be lower budget/priority. They've improved from the 90's for sure,but they still have a ways to go. As a casual sailor moon fan,I can say that the original dub done in the 90's wasn't all that great. Besides the fact that they had 3 voice Actors for Usagi/serena,they cut out episodes and didn't even finish the series,and they made uranus and neptune "cousins" so they weren't in

a relationship. Even going back looking at pokemon,both the old 4kids dubs and the new dubs have their own flaws. 4kids had bad syncing,but they made the dialogue seem more natural,like things people would actually say.They also had that problem where they were scared of introducing children to Japanese culture,but that's another story.

Obviously,they can't get the old actress for Meowth,since she passed away years ago,but eh. See ya. have fun or whatever.

Meowth was voiced by a female,and Ash has always been voiced by one. It's not uncommon for a girl to voice a male character,especially if they sound childlike.

I agree with you for sure. :o Ever since Diamond and pearl, Ash's knowledge reset in a way...pikachu does too. I wish they'd put a new character in...An old man has better memories than Ash. The old dub was funny though. I like when localizations take a different direction. The issue with direct translations is cultural barriers,and people don't seem to understand that. That's why anime used to

give characters American-sounding names. The riceball censorship was a bit much for me,though. Your post got erased,Asher.
