Can someone please explain to me what causes a Ranked Battle to go into overtime?

  • If a team's time counter has advanced more than the other team's, if that other team's counter starts moving and the time runs out, you will go into overtime, and if they get the lead, you lose, but if yours starts moving, you automatically win.

  • In tower control, the other team might be losing and if they are controling the tower after 0, they still got a chance of winning and if you want your team to win, you have to make them lose control over the tower.

  • In Splat Zones and Tower Control, if the losing team has the zone(s) or tower in their control, the game goes into overtime to see if they can make a comeback!

  • The match goes into overtime when the losing team has control of the tower/zone when time runs out. The match ends when either the losing team takes the lead or the winning team takes back the tower/zone. Hope that helped!
