"Zelda is a bad series! This is a bad community! CoD is much better! Zelda is the main protagonist." -Every troll here in a nutshell. Seriously. Why do we keep falling for their bait? Can't we just ignore them?

    dude, Zelda rocks!! :D

    Yeahs1
  • @JCO You don't need to tell me twice. It's a very fun and creative series.

    Yeahs2
  • It gets massive support from the story without using it as a crutch. that alone is incredibly difficult...

    Yeahs2
  • @link Very true. Stories can be very tricky to concoct. And for Zelda, it really seems to work.

    Yeahs2
  • It's best story feature is it's lack of steriotypes, such as ditzy and embarrassingly weak princess roles and muscle-bound jerks for soldiers.

    Yeahs4
  • @link Exactly. The games certainly have archetypes though, which are different from stereotypes. Archetypes however, are just types of characters. A stereotype is something else.

    Yeahs3
  • I dislike the story in Zelda games. They never do enough to be memorable. It's what's keeping Zelda as "Just a video game" to me.

    Yeahs1
  • @Squall Hm…I see. I can understand that. The only really truly memorable story in the series in my opinion would probably have to be Skyward Sword.

    Yeahs0
  • Strange as it may sound, my favorite Zelda story is Link's Awakening. It's the only game to break the "Bad guy wants the thing to happen, STAHP HIM" format that even Majora's Mask adopted.

    Yeahs1
  • @Squall That is true. The main antagonist was unique in that perspective. It wasn't my favorite game due to the actual gameplay, though. But it was still fun and interesting.

    Yeahs0
  • I'd actually theorize that Majora's Mask's surge in popularity is due to its story, and its setting.

    Yeahs2
  • @Squall That could be true. I just like how emotional the sidequests can get, as well as the symbolism of masks in it.

    Yeahs1
  • Precisely. Majora's Mask is what Zelda needs MORE of. Zelda's at it's best when it strikes that balance between mature themes and lighthearted adventuring.

    Yeahs2
  • @Squall I think that's goes the same for anything. (I also liked the character development.) Look at Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame. It did something similar. I'd love to see some more of something like that in any Zelda game.

    Yeahs1
  • Sweet Jesus on a microwave platter, HBoND is amazing. Hellfire never gets old.

    Yeahs2
  • @Squall I agree with that. It's my favorite musical. And Hellfire is very underrated compared to "Let It Go."

    Yeahs1
  • What's your favorite Disney movie? Mine are Alladin and Fantasia.

    Yeahs2
  • @Squall Big Hero 6 (if that counts) Hunchback of Notre Dame, Alladin, and Beauty and the Beast.

    Yeahs1
  • FANTASIA!

    Yeahs1
  • @Justin I should watch that sometime.

    Yeahs1
