I love how deep Tom Nook's name pun is. He looks like a raccoon, but is actually a Japanese animal known as a Tanuki, or raccoon-dog. Tom Nook sounds a lot like Tanuki, doesn't it? And the logo he uses is a leaf. In some Japanese stories, Tanukis use leaves to help them shape-shift. Isn't that cool? Also, I figured this out on my own while reading about Tanukis. :3
