My theory is that the Master Crown is a tool made by the Dark Matter to assist in possession. The more power Magolor drew from the crown, the easier it became for the Dark Matters within the crown to overcome his entire being until he was but a veritable zombie under their compete and total control.

we also fought dark matter during the shadow dedede fight, play it more and more and more, in fact... every boss fight in this game has each and every boss's abilities form every single game.my proof is that the more and more you play, the more and more you'll see your favourite boss's in each and every character. that's my theory.
