Mario kart 9 better have fixed items, the one in Mario kart 8 is so AWFUL! I WANT A REFUND! Nintendo better get an update to fix broken kart 8. It's the worst one out of the others.

    The reason why you get coins in 1st place is because it's a competitive game. You're supposed to be challenged to get the winning spot. It would be unfair if you could just constantly protect yourself.

    I think she's right about the whole item problem. People in first place have the constant threat of Red Shells, Blue Shells, and the only thing that can defend yourself will force you to hold the item button. I just got into 1st, why am I being punished for it?!

    I'll admit, the coin is utter manure next to the lightning cloud back in MKWii, but we actually have some kind of control over the items in MK8. I personally play with Mushrooms only on savior mode(200cc). It's more skill based that way IMO.
