Agreed NIN, I thought talking about games naturally led to making friends, talking about ourselves, buying more games than we ever needed becus our friends have them, etc. How it gets in the way of gaming talk is beyond me...
Splatoon which was wiius biggest recent hit was only so big because the community embraced it.honestly i thought it looked like a stupid kids game until a few friends did a ton of fan art before the games release(specifically lum&mirai who are sadly banned but thats another story) i decided to buy it because so many mii friends said they would. thats just one example of a miiverse related purchase
Sad, but I agree with you jacob. I don't see how we're supposed to make friends and not want to chat with each other or how that hurts anyone else's experience. But it does sound like they want every post and comment on Miiverse to be strictly game related, and we're supposed to go elsewhere for anything else. So I guess that's what I'll do. Glad I found so many of you guys elsewhere,
@Gail: I don't think PMs are changing (at least, they didn't mention it), but if course that's only one on one and only with your friends list, but it is a way to keep some contact, at least.
@Jacob: oh! I know that feeling, mine did that to me just the other day. >.< hope it comes back on quickly.
Lol, yeah you are, you beat me! I didn't even think about PMs being part of the limit, but they haven't said anything, so it's possible. That would suck..

She was only referring to "off-topic" chats which is why they are having the 30 posts/comments per day rule, which sadly also affects people who just want to talk about games.
Have you seen the stupid stuff that gets posted at certain communities? I think the Nintendo staff is trying to reduce the amount of off-topic posting that tends to pop up at the gaming communities.
I think some people are being way too dramatic about this update, they do have some good ideas going about sharing our gaming experiences, however they have really tried to kill the social aspect of this by limiting coments and getting rid of posting on activity feeds which is stupid as users can't have chats with their followers which again strips the social aspect...
I thought the problem they were trying to fix was how people use miiverse to have off topic, non-game related discussions. Miiverse isn't really a social media like so many ppl treat it, it's a supplement to the games, like everything Nintendo does. Just look at the Wii Fit community. I think some of the changes sound good but others I need to experience first to see if they help or hinder.
on topic off topic its all subjective. in the end we are being pushed out. communitys like tomadachi life and art academy can be about anything. miiverse was described as a social network. what is social supposed to mean? i get to say letsa go mario 30 times? lame
It's silly really, but it's not the end if miiverse, the site will be the same after the update and eventually the miiverse team will change it, there will never be a way to make this place perfect the same as any social media site. That's all I really have to say.
It's actually not subjective I think. Wii Fit's should be a place to talk about Wii Fit, Youtube's should be a place to talk about things on Youtube (so really anything is on topic there), Art Academy's should be a place to talk about your art, simple.
What I don't understand is why if they didn't want the off topic posts, they let communities like WiiFit which was a thriving active on topic community be taken over by trolls? And now they complain? Makes no sense to mii...
I love your drawing Nin, we're all happy & smiling, just having an awesome time together with the friends we've met here on miiverse. We've all met through supporting our favorite artists or helping each other with games. I'm thankful for all of the wonderful miis I've met on here & nothing can change that :)
