Yesterday I beat Zelda 2 and someone on Miiverse asked me which area was harder: Death Mountain or the Great Palace. I answered Death Mountain, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized neither one of these is as hard as the Valley of Death. With Death Mountain, you can grind and level up until it's not too tough. And the Great Palace isn't that hard if you know what you're doing.

  • Death Mountain has a very steep learning curve to it. You should realistically get the hammer after you complete Parapa Palace, so you can reach the Midoro Swamp with greater ease. You really need to have sword level 4 to attempt Death Mountain. The Great Palace can be extremely confusing if you don't know the proper route though it, since there are tons of deadends. • you, so many times it is wiser to just run away from them. They are worth 500 exp in the Japanese version versus being 200 exp in the NES version. The Valley of Death is hard, but it is near the game's end. You just have to learn to nail your long distance jumps or you will lose some lives.
