I think the fact that Nintendo is shutting down a service, announces it on Miiverse, and it has taken over 4 hours just to get to 100 replies shows how irrelevant this service is!

Without the integrated search, It didn't add much value. It was a good idea, But needed more attention. Now bring more video apps to the system, like HBO and MLB.

Might be silly question but does that mean the TV button on the gamepad will be useless? I hope we can still use it as a remote because I haven't used an actual remote in 3 years.

Also, yo devs, for what it's worth, I see what you're trying to do to Miiverse lately, and I greatly appreciate it. Things were getting out of hand, and while this will be rough to a lot of users I welcome efforts to put Miiverse back onto it's originally intended track. It's not a social network after all, it just looks like one. Just letting you know the appreciation is out there.

It was a completely useless service that should never have existed in the first place. My DirecTV remote does everything that Nintendo TVii did, only much quicker and easier.

So what? I didn't even know how to work that thing. So I'm not really heartbroken from this news. :P

The TV button on the gamepad is not a launcher for Nintendo TVii. The remote functionality of the gamepad is not going away.

NOTE: The T.V button on the Wii U tablet WILL still be useable. Do ya'll know that project DX is coming out next year as far as I know. Thank you Miiverse peps for making me waste time on pointless arguments. One thing though Nintendo: Please make data storage units easier to install for the Wii U. Love grease, chicken grease!

I only used TVii for sportinng events. A shame it's going away, I liked talking to strangers about what's happening in a ball game.

I just started using it yesterday. It's pretty good :c What do you guys mean about the TV button not working? My TV remote doesn't work at all. I don't mind doing things manually, but that TV button on the Wii U gamepad is super convenient. I didn't think that button was connected to TVii. Why close down such a neat feature?

Looks like Nintendo is going to discontinue the Wii U sometime in 2016. NINTENDO NX IS COMING NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At least it wasn't called Project Cafe. Oh yeah, PLEASE DON'T MAKE THE NX GIMMICKY. NO MORE MOTION CONTROLS, NO MORE 2ND SCREEN CONTROLS, AND I'M NOT SAYING THIS AS A TROLLER, I'VE HERD THE FANS OPINIONS. I used this so much during Breaking Bad marathons and recently with Better Call Saul. For many episodes I was the only one posting anything. Too bad this had to go because I liked using it sometimes.

It never worked properly for me anyway. Nothing gained, nothing lost.

Never lived up to its promise, like being able to choose who are in the room to view what is available based on consensus, or being able to control DVR with it, or consistently be able to find stuff from Amazon/Netflix/Hulu through it... A shame. Could have been more, but never even got to its initial promise.

Television these days is no good, anyway. Too much "reality" nonsense.

Every Time I Tried To On NintendoTVii, It Didnt Work

I never even figured out how to make it work... *sigh* I thought I could watch TV on it, but.. Nothing never showed up on my gamepad but pictures.

You guys realize all we are losing is an under used community and a tv guide right? Cause that's really all Nintendo TVii is, a tv guide. You can also comment on shows as they air, but like I said. The community was under used. Most shows were a ghost town.

Actually Ty, they're only shutting down NintendoTVii, not Miiverse.

All it did was add to the initial disappointment of all the things that worked poorly on the launch WiiU that I had bought. It was DOA to me from the start due to how useless and non-functional it was. Glad your getting rid of it so you can focus on things that are valuable. Stuff like Nintendo TVii shouldn't be done unless they can be done at the quality of service a potential user would value.

I haven't use the Tvii at all. I did try to get on like once or twice but it is kinda boring in my opinion. I'm so sad to see it going bye-bye but if no body is using it,then why keep up and running if you ain't gonna use it I'm so sorry to see it go.

Never used it myself, though it seemed like an interesting idea...just gonna be odd to see the little tv button on the gamepad and know it doesn't do anything... also on a sidenote, I think itd be handy to have a suggestions/vote section on miiverse, to get an idea what people like/dont like or would like to see gamewise, but please.... PLEASE dont try to appeal to everyone if that would happen
