I only used it once. Besides, I have Dish so I can watch TV, also YouTube and Netflix.

I think I found out why Nintendo TVii is shutting down. It seems that the service that provided the TV listing data is shutting down, as well.

We Europeans never got Nintendo TVii in the first place… I'm sorry to hear about this. It had loads of potential, too. Would you be so kind as to remove Nintendo TVii from the Wii U Menu like you did for Europe? I feel sorry for the people in the US. Especially those who liked the service. I never got to see it (I'm in the UK), but it sounded like others were enjoying it.

Would you believe that someone on Wikipedia thought that Miiverse was shutting down, rather than Nintendo TVii? As sad as this news is, that's still an amusing mistake, in my opinion.

Nintendo should inform better about this, they are not the ones ending TVii, its the third party company that provides the feature the one shutting down the service.

Let me just say, Nintendo TVii had a lot of potential, but was weighed down by its slow loading times. It was a great idea on paper, but still needed a few kinks ironed out.

What does Nintendo plan on replacing this feature with? Although it may not have been a popular application, it did add some value to the system. It would be a shame to simply remove functions without adding something else or somehow compensating the customers who purchased the system with that option.

I already use something else, it's called fiber optic cable!!

@Benson Tu The TV button will always work, The program Nintendo Tvii is being disconntinued for... Whatever reason... Meh I never used Nintendo Tvii in the first place.

To be fair, I don't think many people used this. There was some interesting functionality in there, but the interface was shoddy to the point that it was often quicker just to use the functions on your cable box. Now, the TV remote menu built into the GamePad, THAT has proven to be truly useful.

Why is everything Changing. First they shut down Club Nintendo then they discontinued Nintendo Zone, Now Nintendo TVii!?!?! Why does this have to happen?! @Erick, You forgot to add the update of Miiverse and when they shut down Swapnote and discontinued the wifi service for Nintendo DS and the Wii. Now THAT REALLY STINGS ME!!!

to be honest, i only used it once or twice, but it was still a cool idea! Seriously nintendo, you can't keep going on like this. you're going to have to realize when you make a mistake and listen to your fans more. i don't see any reason to not keep nintendo TVii, even if not that many people used it

When they get rid of TVII they should replace it with MUSICII which is a FREE service that you can get music and put it on your Wii U®!

Although Tvii is being discontinued more apps may be added after that, hopefully.

Guys, you must understand. Remember the NX? They will probably be shutting down ALL services for Wii U, in a matter of months. Because they want everybody to buy the NX, they did the same with the Wii.
