The moment I heard that OMEGA STAGES were BANNED at Evo is the monent I completely lost confidence in this fandom... It was hanging by a thread, anyway.

  • @AAA: The Evo ban specifically was due to music and stuff. But then the top players started talking about UNIVERSALLY banning omegas and "consistency" and bologna like that.

  • So basically stages that contain no extra platforms and no stage gimmicks that contain unfair advantages are not ok but stages such as Dreamland 64 that have extra platforms that can interrupt combos and have some slight stage gimmicks that could give an unfair disadvantage are fine. Ok who makes the rules? Boy competitive smash rules should left to the creators. -But that's none of my business-

  • It's the dumbest thing. If you're a top drawer player than surely your concentration can withstand some background music and graphical effects. The irony is that the flashiest stage of all, Final Destination, is still the norm.

  • Reasons for banning omega stages were because of walls and openness under the stage. and how you recover is different. Theres too much variety. For the counter pick system you would have to ban certain omegas because they are slightly different. (in high level play stage attributes matter) That would take wayyyyyy to long to pick which omega.

  • Platforms inresponse to that other guy change up the game slightly without hurting it badly at all. Platforms bring more combos and make the game less boring. Platforms add no kind of randomness but more strategy. Don't let the competitive smash scene be in charge by the creators. they wouldn't know what they were doing.
