I don't know how, but I've avoided seeing any gameplay of the Mother series for 18 years. Now I own EarthBound Beginings and am playing it. I am excited and nervous all at the same time.

    That's okay. Apart from Ness being in Smash, NOA had been actively avoiding the Mother games for 18 years, so it balances out.
